General information about nacani capsules and dosage
The amount of CBD your dog can safely take depends primarily on their weight— and therefore on the number of nacani pellets to feed. As a general rule, we recommend approximately 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per day per kilogram of body weight. However, this is only a rough guideline. It’s best to experiment a bit yourself to find the dosage that works best for your dog. Since every organism is unique and reacts differently, you can’t generalize CBD dosing 100%. For some dogs, fewer nacani pellets than recommended are enough to achieve the desired effect, while others need a bit more. Observe your dog, and you’ll notice when the dosage is working. You don’t need to worry, because you can’t go wrong. Even a higher dose has no serious side effects! Taking particularly high amounts of CBD simply makes you a little sleepy.
In acute cases—for example, to help calm a child in a stressful situation like New Year’s Eve—the dosage can be significantly increased, and three to four times the usual amount can be given.

Our nacani balls are available in two different sizes:
- nacani MINIS with 1 mg of CBD per treat – ideal for smaller dogs
- nacanis with 3 mg of CBD per ball – ideal for larger dogs and horses
How to properly dose nacani MINIS (1 mg of CBD per capsule)
Dosing nacani MINIS is very simple because each pellet contains 1 mg of CBD. So the number of nacani MINIS you feed your dog depends on your dog’s weight.
If your dog has never had CBD before, you can start by giving it in small amounts. By gradually increasing the dose, your dog’s body can get used to the CBD.
- Determine the daily dose of CBD for your dog. General guideline: 0.5 to 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight per day (see dosage calculator)
- Start with the lower limit of 0.5 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight, and after three to four days, increase the number of capsules by one per day until you reach the upper recommended dosage of approximately 1 mg of CBD per kilogram of body weight.
Dosage example for nacani MINIS
Luna, 6 kg
- Daily dose: approx. 3 to 6 mg CBD
- Days 1–3: 3 scoops of nacani MINIS per day (preferably in the morning, at noon, and in the evening)
- Day 4: 4 scoops of nacani MINIS
- Day 5: 5 scoops of nacani MINIS
- Starting on day 6: 6 nacani MINIS
Important: This is just one example of how to proceed. You don't have to stick to it strictly. You know your pet best and are in the best position to determine what dosage is best for them.
How to properly dose nacanis (3 mg of CBD per capsule)
The dosage for nacanis is essentially the same as that for nacani MINIS. The only difference is that one nacani capsule contains three times as much CBD as one MINIS capsule. So simply divide your dog’s weight by 3, and you’ll get the number of nacani capsules that should be given daily.
Dosage example for Nacanis
Lilli, 24 kg
- Daily dose: approx. 12 to 24 mg CBD
- That means Lilli gets about 4 to 8 scoops a day.
How are the nacani balls served?
nacani CBD snacks should be given as treats in addition to your dog’s regular food. It’s best to spread them out throughout the day. For large dogs, you may need to adjust their food portion slightly.
In general, CBD should be administered daily if it has a positive effect. Take a short break of three to four days every two to three months to prevent the body from becoming sluggish in its own production of cannabidiol. In cases of mental health issues, the dosage can often be reduced after prolonged use, as the body often (though not always) adjusts its hormonal balance, and the positive experiences the dog has had naturally begin to take effect.
Getting the right dose of nacani capsules is easy
You can't really go wrong with the dosage of nacani capsules.
In simple terms, your dog’s weight determines the amount of nacani MINIS he should receive each day. For the larger nacani treats containing 3 mg of CBD per treat, simply divide your dog’s weight by 3 to get the number of treats he should have each day. In acute stressful situations, you can give him a few extra treats.
If CBD is completely new to your dog, you can start by introducing it gradually so your dog’s body can get used to the new product. And even if you give a bit more, it’s unlikely to cause any problems, since CBD doesn’t have any serious side effects. So give it a try and see for yourself how much good it does your pet!
